The Wedding Survey

I want to avoid ironing..so here we go : )

The Story of
John Cody Sage
&
Sarah Beth 'Brown' Sage

1) Did you have a traditional proposal? Yes! On Easter weekend of 2007, Cody came in to Longview from Houston on Good Friday. Chlo and I went over to the Sages to see him and when we got there his parents weren't there and it was silent. Cody said he wanted to show me a video, asked me to sit down and watch and not ask questions : ) The video was of pictures of us from the previous 4 years of dating set to Dave Barnes' On a Night Like This. I was tearing up at the end of the video (of course) and turned to see Cody down on one knee with a ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him to which I replied "are you serious" several times before saying yes and breaking down completely! He also had a Bible for me with "Sarah Beth Sage" written on it and beautiful pink roses!! Our parents all came over afterwards and I texted/called all my friends!

8) How long were you engaged? 8 Long months!
9) Who did you hire as your photographer/videographer? Casey Jay Benson was our photographer and we absolutely loved him!!!! We didn't hire a videographer, a friend did the video for us.

10) Did you have a DJ or a band? Neither, we just played music from our computer...which I might change if I was to do it all over. It worked though!
11) Did your father walk you down the isle? Of course!! We are all about tradition!
12) What color were the bridesmaids dresses & the groomsmen vests? The guys wore pink vests and ties with their black tuxes and the girls wore tea length Ann Taylor black dresses with pink sashes that matched mine! You can see in the pics under number 6.

16) Did you have Bachelor Party? Yes. I had a girls night in Houston with pedis, Lupe Tortilla, a lingerie shower and then going out! Cody and his guys went to Shreveport for a weekend!
17) The night before your wedding, did you sleep? Yes..I had like a cold/sinus infection so I took medicine before bedtime.
18) What type of wedding gown/tux did you two wear? I wore a strapless, beaded gown with a pick up skirt. I wore a pink sash for the wedding and a Sage green sash for the reception. Cody wore a black tux and black shirt with a white vest and tie.

19) Did you have a veil? Oh yes! As I said, we're very traditional!
20) What was the funniest moment from your wedding? The guys gave my wedding band to the last groomsmen, Nick. When my uncle asked Cody for the ring he turned back to his brother, who turned back to the next groomsman and so on until they got to the end and passed it up!

21) How was the weather? Beautiful, but cold! Some of my girls had ice on their cars that morning!!
22) Did your bridal party deck out the get away car? Yes! I had hid my 4runner in the garage at my parents house to avoid it getting decorated then sitting at DFW for a week, but my brother gave the guys the code to the garage. I thought it was funny though!

23) Where did you go on your Honeymoon? We went on a 7-day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

24) What was your favorite part of your wedding day? The whole day was amazing, but my favorite part was when the big doors opened at the church and I saw Cody. I was so nervous beforehand and once those doors opened, I don't know, I was just so happy and I was fine because I saw him!

25) How long have you been married? 1 year and like 2 1/2 months. 438 days according to the knot.com

29) Anything special about the day/time of year you got married? It is 4 days after Christmas, 7 days after my birthday, a month and 6 days after Cody's birthday...haha, a busy time of year!
30) Words of Wisdom? The wedding is such an amazing day, but its only a small window into your marriage. As much as I loved walking down that aisle to Cody that day, I love even more knowing that every night he comes home to me! Its so fun to live with your best friend, the guy that you fell in love with! Sometimes its hard, but its so worth it!!
