Just a few little updates..

I know that you've been wondering.."now what are the Sages doing to their house." Well blog reader, you are in luck because we've been working hard and have pictures to prove it : )
A few weeks ago we awoke to find our mailbox on the ground. We're still not sure how that happened, but regardless we had to replace it with a new one.

Note also the fact that my hibiscus are still living! Woohoo! Thanks to Roxanne at the Family Plaque for our new address letters!!
Another thing that we were working on was greatly inspired by Jen McCrady's house blog. Her fireplace looked so well put together and all that ours had on it was a picture from our wedding, so I decorated.

And don't think thats all that we've done : ) One of our sweet neighbors had an armoire that they no longer needed so they passed it along to us.
I sanded it (love the mouse sander), painted it black, replaced the knobs with glass ones and used a stencil to paint a design on it. Whew! It was a lot of work, but I am very satisfied with how it turned out!

And the last project for the time being was a headboard for the guest room.

If you're thinking, man I feel like I've seen that headboard before, you probably have in this picture.
This headboard used to be the doors in on our bedroom closet. Unfortunately they NEVER stayed on their tracks and ended up off of the closet within the first week that we lived here. Since they weren't being used, I took them apart, took off the hardware, painted them, Cody so kindly cut them down, and put them together. (our closet is still needing doors, just haven't figured out exactly what I want).
Now onto new tasks!

We are family

This weekend all of the ladies in my family (minus Kara, Ashton and Ab...we missed y'all!) met in Fredericksburg for a girls weekend!! We stayed at this cute B&B called the Chuckwagon Inn.
The whole gang minus Erin..she was already asleep

The SistersThe under 30s (my cousin, sis-in-law and cousin-in-law!)

We had a lot of good quality time together! Friday we sat on the front porch of the cabin that Jen and I were staying in and everyone caught up.
Saturday we ate a wonderful homemade breakfast then ventured to Wildseed farms.

We then followed a suggestion made by Texas Monthly and ventured to Alamo Springs Cafe out in the middle of nowhere for the 3rd best burger in Texas! Sooo good!

Afterwards we went and explored downtown Fredericksburg Linkand did a little shopping before returning to the B&B for a rowdy, very fun game of Apples to Apples! It was intense!! I think Bev ended up winning!
Then this morning we ate another amazing home cooked breakfast and headed off in our own directions!! I can't wait to see where we go next year!!
Jen and Erin were my roomies in the Bollinger cabin : )

Cousin Mindy and I : )

On a random note:
Natalie and I went to a staff development all day Thursday. As we were getting ready to leave we were unpleasantly surprised to find sheets of rain pouring down outside of the Berry Center! We braved it and ran through the huge puddles of water to make it to my car and were dying laughing by the time we got there : )

Suntanned toes ticklin' the sand

Yesterday I went down to Galveston with Emily and Dinah for a quick day trip! Our day involved two Sonic trips (we made it to both happy hours!), a Subway stop, a journey down to a beach that looked closed still, Charley's first ocean experience and a few hours relaxing in the sun & chatting : ) What a good day!

Lake Travis

This weekend Cody and I went to Lake Travis, stayed with my fam and got to see both families!
The view from our condo.

We stayed at this place called The Hollows and we loved it! The water was so low though!
Cody and I went on a bike ride around the Lake on Saturday morning. It was beautiful, but showed me how out of shape I am : )
We also went swimming! There was a hot tub called the Grotto, but the rules said that diabetics were not allowed..sad day!! I got in anyway : )
Later The Sages came up from Austin and we went kayaking! No pictures from that though, who knows what would have happened to my camera in the water!
Then we all got ready and headed to the Oasis to celebrate Brad's 27th birthday!! Woohoo!

Sunday we drove into Austin and got to see the Capitol! So fun!! We love getting to spend time with our families!!

Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city

LinkLast Tuesday, I had a downtown day with Hannah, Meagan and Dinah!! We went to eat at Empire Cafe for lunch before venturing into actual downtown : )

Then we went to discovery green, which is a park in downtown (it was clearly a rainy day..woohoo!)

We then tried to figure out how to get down into the tunnels, which is harder than it sounds! We went into one building that we thought would take us there and tried the elevator to go down a level which didn't go down. Everyone got off the elevator but our sweet Dinah, she ended up having to ride up a few levels and switch elevators! Gotta love it : )

We finally had to ask for help getting to the tunnels and this nice man showed us the way!
After a little while of wandering the tunnels, we ventured back to the streets to look for a dessert place! We went to Sambuca and had very yummy sweets!
Such a fun day!!

My parents came into town on Thursday and we enjoyed our time together visiting, shopping and eating! Thursday night we went to Hickory Hollow for giant chicken fried steak (which of course i did not eat..both other people did). On our way in I took a picture of the sausage sign because it has the word Sage at the end : )

We explored Houston shopping a little more on Friday and then went to Melting Pot in the Woodlands for dinner!! It was so good and there was SO much food!

The rest of this weekend, Cody and I worked in the yard some more and he worked on the pop-up which I think I am going to begin referring to as The Cobra (I think thats the brand..its written on the side).
This week I have the Houston project at night, fun things to do during the day, and then Cody and I are meeting our fams at Lake Travis for the weekend! Woohoo! Gotta love summer : )
