One down, forever to go!

Our first wedding anniversary was on Monday and we celebrated Monday night with dinner at Perry's and eating our wonderful wedding cake at home that night! Amazingly enough, after one year our cake still tasted wonderful! I'm thinking this is due to my mom's wrapping skills (six layers of foil, two layers of saran wrap and some duct tape!). Thanks mom!
I must say, having a wedding anniversary makes me feel old though! Having a wedding didn't, but wedding anniversaries are things that our parents have! : )
I am so grateful to have met and fallen in love with such an amazing, handsome, Christian man who loves me and takes such wonderful care of me!
And of course I took a few pictures!

Look at the beautiful roses Cody brought me!

Mr. and Mrs.
Our china! (I'm kind of obsessed)

Our table is countertop height, which means that Chloe has to work to get up there with us. I had also moved chairs to create even more of an obstacle for Chloe so we could have a "romantic" dessert just the two of us. Chloe did not appreciate this and started crying, so she got to join us at the table!

Christmas!!

Well Cody and I just got back from a very full week in Longview of friends, food, presents and hunting (not me, Cody)! On Tuesday, I went to T-town to to see the Besties! We got to go to lunch and catch up! I miss them!!
On Tuesday night we went to the Baxter Sales (Cody's dad's company) Christmas party and enjoyed Papacitas!
Then on Wednesday morning, I hosted a Christmas Eve breakfast at my parents house and saw some high school friends including my two best friends since forever (Danielle and Tracib)!!

On Wednesday night we went to First Baptist's Christmas Eve service and then on to the big Sage family Christmas at Nanny and Pappas's.
Then on Christmas we woke up EARLY and went to do Christmas and eat breakfast with the Sage fam (Cody's parents and siblings). My parents came to pick us up and then drove us to Marlin (near Waco) for my mom's family's big Christmas. There were 28 lively people in Mamaw and Papaw's house!!! We drove back Wednesday night and then spent the evening playing Wii with the Sages!
The Brown Fam

The Whole Childs Family

On Friday, we finally got to do the Brown family Christmas!!! This was Erin's first Christmas and she was just a joy to watch as she ate the wrapping paper, bang the paper around to make noise and get mezmorized by her toys. Oh yes and Cody and I put together an Indiana Jones lego set, be jealous! : )

The rest of the weekend was full of food and family!! We were blessed with an abundance of gifts and two absolutely amazing families!!
Only one more day until our anniversary!!!!!

Another Year Older...

Hooray for this time of year!! I for sure still get as excited about my birthday as I did when I was a little girl! I mean, who doesn't love their birthday?! Today was my 24th, which makes me feel old, but it was still fun!
After breakfast at which I got some wonderful presents from the husband and the parents, Mom and I started the day with manis/pedis. We then went to lunch with dad, Cody, Garrett and Carol at Heartland Ham (my birthday usually revolves around going to all of my favorite restaurants in one day!) This afternoon I had a Starbucks date with Allison, a sweet friend that I've had since we were two!!! (Please don't judge, I have on no make-up)
Tonight Cody and I went to GZs (a Chinese food restaurant) with our parents and came back here for petitfors! YUM!

And we finally got a good Christmas tree pic! Too bad it isn't in front of our own Christmas tree!

Today was wonderful!! Only one more week until our first wedding anniversary!! CRAZY!

and when we left there, it was still snowing!!!! AH! Snow in Houston!!

On Thursday evening, a group of girls headed up to the Berry Center for Converge. Beth Moore spoke, Cece Winans sang as did Travis Cottrell! It was a very uplifting time in the word, that got us in the Christmas spirit!!
Friday ended the week with tutoring, a dinner date with my husband and watching a movie at home! It was a perfect end to the week!
On Saturday morning, Chloe made a new friend when we had a playdate with Bella (Lindsay and Chad's puppy)! They were hilarious together!
Cody and I got to finish up our Christmas shopping on Saturday and wrap all of the presents also!! Yay!! We met his aunts (Robin and Rosie) and Macie and Austin at the Galleria for Cheesecake factory! Yum!
Today has seemed crazy, but full of fun experiences!! After Sunday school this morning, I got to go to an extravagant Christmas party up in Champions where Miley Cyrus performed with Rosie, Robin, Austin and Macie!

As soon as it was over, Cody and I headed down to our Sunday School Christmas party, where we received a giant blow up penguin lawn ornament as a white elephant gift! haha!
Its been a wonderful week, but i'm ready for rest!! Only five days until my break starts!! : )

Santa Claus is coming to Town

This past week was fairly uneventful as most of our weeks are : ) I like them that way! Only 10 more school days until Christmas break! CRAZY!!
On Friday afternoon mom and dad came into town and got to meet my kiddos. They were SO excited! What a fun way to end a school week! After school my parents and I started our shopping extravaganza. Mom and I got a lot of Christmas presents taken care of!! When we got home, Cody prepared fondue for dinner! YUM!
On Saturday we ventured up to one of my favorite places in Houston, the Premium Outlets. We did some damage there too : ) Valerie, I tried to get my mom to take a picture but she wouldn't, so we took a picture of some of the bags instead! : )

We also went to see Four Christmases which I'd heard that a lot of people didn't like. I thought it was hilarious!!
Today we went to the early service at church and enjoyed the Christmas music and tithing message. I was disappointed however to discover that the Christmas program that I thought was tonight had actually happened last night! Oh well! Maybe next year! We went to the galleria for lunch at Cheesecake factory and a little more shopping after church! : )
I decided that I wanted to take Christmas pictures with our first Christmas tree, but unfortunately, it was too bright outside so we have lots of sun on us : ) I would re-do them, but I'm over it! Chloe's picture is super cute though!!

Ten school days left! 15 days until my birthday, 18 until Christmas and 22 days until our 1st wedding anniversary!

So Thankful...So Full!

Thanksgiving break came none too soon!! I feel like all of these holidays are planned to fall right as everyone can't handle another day of work : )
Cody and I got to go home for five days, which I think is the longest that we've been home since we've been Mr. & Mrs. We got to spend a lot of quality time with both of our families! I even got to love on my sweet little niece for four days, dress her up cute and take some pictures! I was in heaven!

On Thanksgiving day we began the gluttony at the Sage's house for lunch. By the time that we finished I was sure that I could not eat another thing, but low and behold, when we went to my parent's house that night we still managed another full Thanksgiving meal. And you might think that we would eat lightly the rest of the weekend, but you would be wrong. We even went to the Sacred Spur Saturday night for a VERY large meal (steak for most, chicken for me).

Cody and I after two Thanksgiving Meals

We were not really wanting to come back yesterday, but I got excited when I got to decorate our first home together for the holidays! : )
A few pics of some of the decorations. Thank goodness for the Christmas shower we had last year!

And then I was super excited to go back to work today knowing that I had my gift of time (getting to leave 2 hours early) and I even made it to Sonic Happy Hour! This is the start of a great month!!

Happy Birthday Cody!

This weekend was Ashley Dubose Bouwer's wedding : ) Beth and Patrick came and stayed with us and brought along little Soph. Chloe and Sophie have a history of varied interactions. Sometimes they hide, sometimes they fight, but lately they've gotten along. We put this to the test by leaving them along together when we went to the wedding and thank goodness we came back to both of them in one piece! : )

Ash's wedding was at a beautiful chapel up in the Woodlands which we barely made it to before the wedding started (like the doors had shut already)...woops! The wedding and reception were both beautiful and very classy. We got to sit at a table of Zetas and catch up! Seems like there are fewer opportunities for that now, we need more Zetas to get married!

Today is Cody's birthday!! He is 24. I am married to an old man : ) We've had a fun, yet laid back day today celebrating.
Only 2 more school days until Thanksgiving break!! Woohoo!!
