29 weeks

and I should really be working on grad school right now, but it is getting so much harder to focus on that.   And I apologize for only having baby posts.  I swear I am doing more than just day dreaming about her arrival and getting things ready, but unfortunately most of the other things that I am doing involve graduate school in one manner or another and I am sure that would be of no interest to you : )
How far along:  29 weeks
How big is baby: Acorn Squash
Maternity clothes:  A mixture..almost always for pants though
Sleep:  I've slept better this week.  Haven't accomplished near as much as I need to though...at least I'm getting rest : )
Food cravings: Chocolate, sweets in general
Food aversions:  None really
Symptoms: Back pain and heartburn
Movement: Sadie is moving a lot, like constantly and she is starting to wake with noises (like my alarm to get up in the mornings and when the students are too loud)
Gender:  Girl
What I’m looking forward to:  Her first shower Saturday, seeing her little self again on Monday
What I miss:  nothing
Best part of the week: Taking more steps to get ready for her arrival.  So excited!

You, me and the baby makes 3

We are officially in the 3rd trimester, which means 11ish weeks until we meet our sweet girl.  We were home this weekend and because my dad is awesome,  he was able to take some maternity pics for us (thank you pinterest for photo ideas).

And our baby girl will be named Sadie! We cannot wait to meet her : )

28 weeks

Hello 3rd trimester! We are only 12 weeks away from Baby Girls due date!!  I cannot believe it!  In the past week, we have painted (with low VOC paint), found a day care and met with Maternity leave.  We are getting ready for her!
How far along:  28 weeks
How big is baby: Eggplant
Maternity clothes:  A mixture..almost always for pants though (except the ones I'm wearing in the picture, thank you belly band).  Its funny how differently the maternity clothes fit now from when I first bought them!
Sleep:  I'm exhausted.  School + grad school + growing a human leaves me beat every night.  I guess I'm sleeping fairly well though...just not a ton of time to sleep
Food cravings: Chocolate consumption is getting out of control...  and Chick-fil-a!  Pregnant girl found out last night that the only fast food restaurant that has both caffeine free diet coke and diet lemonade (the CFA closest to me) will be closed for a month! A whole month for renovation...sad day!
Food aversions:  None really
Symptoms: Back pain.  I'm not sure the arch of my back is good for my spine..but as long as baby girl is growing like she's supposed to, I can put a pillow behind my back and lay down when I need to.  Heartburn is still my companion too.
Movement: Watching my belly move and loving knowing she is doing well.  I think she's found my ribs..
Gender:  Girl
What I’m looking forward to:  Hearing her heartbeat next week!  Putting the crib together.  Getting aa few crafts/furniture DIYs  going for her room.
What I miss:  nothing
Best part of the week: Still loving the movement...also loving that her room is painted..the nursery is taking shape!

Happy Valentine's Day & 27 weeks

I just came from the land of paper Valentine's and chocolate hearts aka second grade.  I wish I had as much excitement about things as they did.  They love today : )
Cody and I are celebrating tonight with homemade pizza (our absolute favorite!).  I came home today though to see that my dough had not risen and was hard....who knows what I had too much or too little of, but thank goodness that I had enough time to remake it really quick.
(bad dough on left...yummy dough on right)
Today is also 27 weeks

I wore the same dress at 17 weeks...Baby girl is growing!
How far along:  27 weeks
How big is baby: A rutabaga (which is A large, round, yellow-fleshed root that is eaten as a vegetable)
Maternity clothes:  A mixture..almost always for pants though.  I did bust out the belly band to wear my rodeo jeans last week.
Sleep:  I'm staying up later and not able to stay in bed as long in the mornings, but seem to be sleeping better throughout the night.  I feel like by the time I get home each day I am absolutely exhausted.  It could have something to do with trying to finish out grad school and get in my internship hours before graduation and before Baby girl is born...
Food cravings: Caffeine free Diet Coke and Diet IBC Root Beer (no caffeine in it), chocolate (its still giving me heartburn though..)

Food aversions:  I haven't been super hungry.  I guess she had a growth spurt a few weeks back because I was a bottomless pit, but I'm back to eating normal now.
Symptoms: Mainly heartburn...its gotten out of control this week.  Thank goodness for tums!  and I am so tired!
Movement: I am still enjoying feeling her move and watching my stomach move around on its own.  By far the weirdest/coolest thing so far.  I crave seeing/feeling her move to know she is doing well!  She also seems to jump at louder noises.
Gender:  Girl
What I’m looking forward to:  Seeing her face in a few months! Painting! Colors are narrowed and room is almost cleared!

What I miss:  nothing
Best part of the week: Seeing her move just watching my belly : )

Rainbow Lodge

Cody and I went to Rainbow Lodge back at the beginning of January with our friends, Danielle and J.K.  I just remembered that I had pictures to share from the dinner and even moreso than that, I thought that y'all might need to hear about this place!

Rainbow Lodge is located in Houston off of North 610 and Ella.  What drew us there was the unique menu which boasts some wild game.  I enjoyed a delicious Salmon dinner and Cody had a mixed platter with a variety of food he would not have been able to get anywhere else.  We thoroughly enjoyed the food.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice.  It was a cross between a high end steak restaurant and a lodge.  Try it out if you're in the area! I made reservations online for our Wednesday night dinner, which was probably overkill, but if we were going back on a Thursday-Sunday, I would probably make reservations.

Better than the restaurant even was getting to spend time with friends!

Aggie Barn

Cody and I have driven Highway 6 a lot in our lifetime.   During college, we drove it separately going to see one another.  Over the past 6 years though, we have drive highway 6 together to go visit friends and family.  We have passed this Aggie Barn outside of Reagan, TX (which is between College Station and Marlin) so many times, I can't even count.
After looking into it a bit more, I emailed for permission so we could take a few pictures.  (Unfortunately, the pics ended up being far away to get the whole barn, so we are teeny tiny in them)
(I had to get at least one with my grad year..whoop for '13!)

26 weeks

How far along:  26 weeks
How big is baby: A head of lettuce
Maternity clothes:  Yes..mixed in with some of my normal clothes.  Mostly maternity pants/skirts (I am very rarely wearing my belly band anymore).  Some of my normal tops and sweaters are still working.
Sleep:  Still very hit or miss.  I either am out cold or I wake up every few hours.
Food cravings:  gum
Food aversions:  none this week
Symptoms:  I have never been good at sitting very long, but its gotten even worse due to a little back pain (and b/c its getting harder to pull my legs up under me when I sit bc I don't like my legs to dangle...short girl problems) Still some heartburn, thank goodness for tums!  Girly has also found my ribs.
Movement: She is getting a little crazy in there.  I can sit and watch my stomach when I am still and see her move! It is crazy!  She is moving more often where I can see/feel, sometimes its a foot or hand, but I'm pretty sure the other night her hiney was what was moving.
Gender:  Girl
What I’m looking forward to:  Painting! Preparing everything for her arrival.  Finishing grad school, so she can be my focus : )
What I miss:  laying on my stomach to do grad school work
Best part of the week: Hearing her heartbeat, seeing her little face and hearing the doctors say how healthy she looks!

S'mores Bites

No picture again, but I got this idea from this pin on pinterest.  I mean, who doesn't love s'mores: graham cracker - good, marshmallow -good, chocolate - good.  Everybody wins.

Smores Bites
from Melissadionne

Ingredients:
6 graham cracker sheets (or as many as you wish)
6 large marshmallows (enough to fit your crackers)
12 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Directions:
1. Break graham cracker sheets in half.
2. Using clean scissors cut each marshmallow into 2 halves.
3. Heat oven to Low Broil.
4. Align graham crackers in the center of a cookie sheet about 1/2″ apart from each other.
5. Top each graham cracker with a marshmallow with the cut/sticky side down.
6. Place marshmallow topped graham crackers under broiler (turn oven light on if you have one) DON’T WALK AWAY, watch them closely as they will toast quickly, allow to toast until golden rotating pan with oven mitt as needed.
7. Once golden immediately remove from oven, place 1 Kiss in the center of each toasted marshmallow and gently press down.  For best results serve warm, just like a real S’more.
8. Enjoy!

25 weeks

I cannot keep up with these posts anymore... I was 25 weeks last Thursday.

How far along:  25 weeks
How big is baby: Cauliflower...kind of a random one
Maternity clothes:  Yes..mixed in with some of my normal clothes.  Some of the same.
Sleep:  Meh, Some nights I sleep like a rock and sometimes I'm restless
Food cravings:  gum
Food aversions:  none this week
Symptoms:  basically the same.  Some heartburn, a little bit more tired than normal, trouble sitting for extended periods of time
Movement: Anytime I am sitting and relaxed I can feel her moving....on days that are a little more crazy I don't feel her quite as much
Gender:  Girl
What I’m looking forward to:  Getting to see her on Wednesday!!  Starting to paint her room and put all of the pieces together so we can just wait on her to finish "baking" and come meet us!
What I miss:  Laying on my stomach to sleep, being able to squeeze through smaller spaces.
Best part of the week: Feeling her move so much.  Picking up her crib and picking out a chair for her nursery!  And running has been better this week.  The more active I have been with her, the better I have felt.  My running clothes are starting to fit a bit tighter though : )

Greek Yogurt Dip

Might've already shared this one before, but just in case I haven't, this was a super easy and yummy substitution.

For ranch dip, instead of using sour cream, use a container of plain Greek yogurt instead, mix it with a packet of ranch dip and enjoy with veggies or chips! Super quick and a little healthier than sour cream, too!
