Camping in the Cold

Oh here's the weekend update:
On Friday Cody and I went to Pappacitos for dinner and had am AMAZING dinner!! I can't remember the last time that I felt that full. It was wonderful!!
On Saturday morning we packed up and drove to San Antonio to see some of our Aggie friends, Nick and Sarah. Although the weather was cold, we decided to go ahead with our prior plans to go camping. Let me just go ahead and tell you that there is currently a burn ban in the San Antonio area due to the lack of rain, meaning no camp fires. We drove up to Guadalupe River St. Park armed with our propane powered grill and propane powered heater. We had so much fun walking around the river, playing and talking. We cooked hot dogs on the little propane grill and had smores (yum!) And then it got really really cold!! We don't know for sure the exact temperature, but we do know that it was at least down to 30 degrees last night as we slept in our tents. All four of us were pretty cold. Sarah and Nick's dog, Butterbean, did fairly well too because she weighs 40 pounds and has an amazingly thick coat. Chloe Sage on the other hand did not fare so well. All 8 pounds of her fluffly white self was shivering most of the night. We had her in her sweatshirt and wrapped up in blanket, next to the heater most of the night, but the poor pup was shivering on and off all night!! We for sure needed a camp fire!! Chloe is okay now though, we've warmed her up and spoiled her with attention because we felt so bad about her being so cold!

Furniture shopping

This weekend has been surprisingly busy for us! Saturday morning we headed over to the Perot's for a COR group (our small group from our Sunday School class) brunch. YUM! It was wonderful to have a little un-interupted time to get know some of the members of our COR group. We went back home for a little while and I got finish Marley & Me (such a sweet book but with such a sad ending!) and my own sweet puppy, Chloe, decided to cuddle up and help me read.
Cody and I then spent the rest of the day running errands. We did a little home shopping even though we still have 28 days until we can move into the house! We hit the jackpot at World Market (we just love that place)! We found
a kitchen island cart to match our white cabinets (its in our extra room right now waiting for the house)

New end tables to match our coffee table (we put all of Chloe's toys up in her bucket, so she got in the end table trying to get to the toys)

a console table to match our end tables and coffee table

We went to church today, lunch with friends and then to Ikea. Oh my gosh, Ikea has SO much stuff!! What a fun store!! We might have to make a few purchases from there later on!
Happy MLKJ holiday to all tomorrow!! I love having Mondays off from school!

Dumplin

So those of you who know me, know that my poor husband suffers from take out dinners or he ends up cooking a lot of the time. Well, I've made a resolution to cook more! Be impressed. Although not the most amazing meals or from scratch, this week has consisted of:
1. Tacos : )
2. Chicken and Dumplings (everything from scratch might I add)

3. And cornflake chicken, italian herb steamed potatoes and steamed broccoli

Oh and I made cookie dough this weekend (super healthy, I know) so that counts too, right?

A random side note, I am obsessed with my wii fit that I got for my birthday! Its so fun!

Chloe on the other, not so obsessed with the wii fit because it means that she does not have my full attention.

Ugglies

So I know that its kind of following the big trend, but I am in LOVE with my Uggs (Ugglies according to my husband and brother-in-law). My tootsies are warm even in this nasty cold weather. Thank you Ugglies!
